What is a Swiftpack?

Swiftpack™ Australia provides medication directly to the patient, in an easy to handle, portable, lightweight dose administration aid known as the Swiftpack™.

The Swiftpack™ is a roll of your medications, divided into individual dose sachets. Each sachet contains the medication for a particular date and time and can contain up to 10 different medications per dose. Swiftpack™ Sachets are easy to open, the labelling is easy to read and they are safe and hygienic.

If for example you have medication twice a day then you will be provided with 2 sachets per day, with the date and time printed on the front of each sachet. Also printed on the Swiftpack™ sachet is name and quantity of each tablet along with your name.

What is the Swiftpack Program?

After you place the trust of your medication delivery in our hands we take care of everything for you, and make you a member of the Swiftpack program. Our pharmacists manage the entire process of the Swiftpack program that is tailored to each consumer’s needs.  The program looks after the prescriptions required from your doctor, through to interactions with the medication you are taking.

The Swiftpack program gives you the following benefits; Packing of medications into the Swiftpack™, fortnightly delivery of your Swiftpack™ and non-packed medications, colour printed medication profile with every doctor initiated medication change, notification, to either the patient or the doctor, of prescriptions that are running low so that you never run out of medication, a free reply-paid postal address for prescriptions, access to order via our online ordering system for any non-packed medication, such as liquids (e.g. Mylanta) or powders. These can be ordered in advance of your fortnightly delivery to arrive with your next medication roll.

Moving from Blister Packs?

Many customers in the community setting have been using the blister type of dose administration aid. We will assist all consumers transitioning from this format by providing a personal appointment to explain the entire process with every new customer. People in general don’t like change, but it is our belief that sachet dose administration aids are the safest option. We take a digital photograph of each sachet for determining accuracy and for audit purposes should it be needed. This is not possible with blister medication aids, and provides an additional layer of accuracy management.

What Sort of Customer uses a Swiftpack?

Swiftpacks are suited to many patient groups, not just seniors. Any person on 4 or more medications is recommended to use a dose administration aid, which could include vitamins that are taken regularly.

Active seniors, people in their mid-fifties, fly-in fly-out workers, children on daily medications that attend school, overseas travellers, are all candidates for the Swiftpack™.
